Apple introduced watchOS 8 at the WWDC 2021 event, which brings a series of exciting features to Apple Watch users.

During the WWDC 2021 event, Apple introduced several updates for Apple Watch devices with watchOS 8. Reporting from Slash Gear (June 8), this latest version brings better messaging capabilities, the option to set the watch face to dynamic portraits, new fitness options, and a few other things. 

WatchOS 8 allows Apple Watch users to share photos via the iMessage and Mail apps. Apart from that, users can also add Emojis and GIFs in messages using Apple Watch. Even this latest version can scroll with the Digital Crown to move the cursor and doodle to write characters on the touch screen using a finger.

Then there is a feature that allows the watch face to be dynamic portraits, which puts Portrait images from the iPhone into a watch face. The Photos app now also has a redesigned look by categorizing images into shared, favorites, and memories categories.

Apple is also adding support for pilates and tai chi workouts to the fitness options on the Apple Watch. There is even a new mindfulness app to relax and focus the user’s mind with meditation. Apple’s system will now also track the respiratory rate and alert the user of any changes via push notifications. It is known, the update on WatchOS 8 will be present at the end of this year.
