Currently, Unisoc is also one of the main beneficiaries of the Application Processor (AP) supply constraints for 4G mobile phones.

A new report shows that Unisoc will see an increase in shipments processor 152%smartphoneyear-on-year (YoY), reaching 68.2 million units in 2021. This also implies the company could overtake Huawei HiSilicon as the third-largest processor supplier.

The processors from these chipset manufacturers are made for use by manufacturers, according to a Chinese phone report from Digitimes. The report adds that the company shipped only 27.1 million mobile processors for Chinese brands in 2020.

In addition, the company has also managed to expand its client list, which now includes Honor, realme, and Lenovo. in other words, it is likely to lead to a notable increase in phone processor shipments this year.

Reporting from Gizmochina (July 31), Unisoc is currently one of the main beneficiaries of the Application Processor (AP) supply constraints for 4G mobile phones. This is because most well-known phone chipset manufacturers like Qualcomm and MediaTek have shifted their focus to serve 5G phones better.

Therefore, Unisoc is even benefiting from increased shipments for 4G phones, which are still quite common in India’s second-largest mobile market. This coincides with the rest of Southeast Asia and more.

Notably, the company is also expected to see its share of total mobile APs shipped for China-based phone manufacturers surpass 10% in the second half of the year. This increase in shipments is also expected to continue into the first half of next year due to ongoing supply constraints of 4G mobile APs. For information, this chip manufacturer mainly relies on TSMC to produce a 4G mobile AP.
