DJI re-launched the Air 2S drone with a new 5-inch screen remote control and improved obstacle avoidance. DJI has launched a new variant of the Air 2S drone in China. This new model drone is equipped with remote control and has a higher price tag when compared to its predecessor.
When purchasing this device, users will get a complete package with an RC remote control instead of the previous RC-N1 remote and a 5.5-inch screen. The wider controller for the Air 2S drone means users don’t need a phone to operate it.
In addition, the screen on this controller has better clarity even under direct sunlight. Reporting from Gizmochina (November 1), the package for this new drone includes a battery butler, shoulder bag, ND mirror, and three batteries.
The Air 2S drone hits the market in April 2021 and is equipped with a 1-inch image sensor. It offers 5.4K/30 fps and 4K/60 fps video recording. The new DJI Air2S features top, front, and rear obstacle avoidance. This drone has a built-in ADS-B receiver and can automatically react when a manned aircraft appears in nearby airspace.
The enhanced safety capabilities of the Air 2S provide smoother flight performance. Four dual-band, 2.4 GHz/5.8 GHz adaptive antennas provide Air 2S transmission capability. This drone has a maximum image transmission distance of 12 km and a maximum resolution of 1080p. The DJI Air 2S has a flight time of 31 minutes on a single charge.
The new version of the DJI Air 2S is available in China for 9,399 yuan. Unfortunately, there is no further information regarding its availability in the global market.
