The design of the OPPO Watch 2 is similar to the Apple Watch

OPPO Watch 2 has just been released in the Chinese market. This smartwatch from OPPO has a design that is almost the same as the Apple Watch.

OPPO officially launched its newest smartwatch product series, namely OPPO Watch 2, in China. This will be the successor to the OPPO Watch, which was released last year. The Watch 2 has a design that’s almost identical to the Apple Watch with square dimensions and rounded sides. Although they are almost the same in terms of design, internally, Watch 2 has a number of improvements from the previous series.

Watch 2 carries the processor smartwatch latest from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 4100. As reported by The Verge (July 29), the company claims that the processor can increase battery life up to 16 days on a single charge. This long life is achieved when the Watch 2 is used in low power mode. While in normal usage mode, the Watch 2 can last up to four days on a single charge.

As with the previous series, the Watch 2 also runs Android-based ColorOS, not Google’s WearOS. But for the series that launched last year was successfully released outside of China with WearOS and access to the Google Play Store. Although it has been successfully released using WearOS, OPPO has not announced plans for a wider release for now. This is presumably because the company is waiting for Google and Samsung’s upcoming WearOS 3.0 collaboration. It is likely to be difficult to update already released products to the new operating system.

Further, regarding the specifications, the Watch 2 will come in two size models, namely 42mm and 46mm. This smartwatch features a curved OLED display with a refresh rate of 60Hz and 326ppi. Both models will also feature an optional eSIM, in addition to monitoring heart rate, sleep, and blood oxygen. And the smaller 42mm will also offer another Bluetooth-only mode for those who don’t want LTE.

Watch 2 is now available in China. For the Bluetooth-only 42mm model, starting at USD 200. For the 42mm model supporting LTE, starting at USD 231. Then, for the 46mm model starting at USD 308.
