The 2021 iPhone series is rumored to carry an LTPO panel, and this allows the device to implement the Always On-Display feature and save battery life.
The Series iPhone latest generations this year is rumored to be carrying the latest screen features. In a new report from Bloomberg, Mark Gurman says the 2021 iPhone series will probably have an Always On-Display feature similar to the iWatch. This feature will work like what has been embedded in most Android smartphones.
In addition to carrying the Always On-Display feature, Gurman also informed that the 2021 iPhone series would increase battery life. In addition, the latest smartphone from Apple that will be released has a slimmer screen curve with a 120Hz refresh rate. For the kitchen runway, he also said that the 2021 iPhone series would use the A15 processor, which has several performance improvements from before. The processor will also allow for better video recording quality.
As far as this news has circulated, the Always On-Display feature has been widely discussed before. So, this is not the first time that news leaks imply that Apple will bring Always On-Display, for the iPhone series that will launch this year. One of the leakers, Max Weinbach, hinted earlier this year that Apple will use a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) panel type on the 2021 iPhone series.
The panels are the same as those embedded in Apple’s smartwatch products. The news from Max Weinbach is in accordance with a recent Bloomberg report that states that if it is present in one of the four 2021 iPhone series smartphone models, it will include an LTPO panel to bring the Always On-Display feature. On the iWatch, the technology in LTPO is used dynamically to adjust the refresh rate of the smartwatch screen to conserve battery life.
In addition to news from Bloomberg and Max Weinbach, an Apple product analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo also said earlier this year that the 2021 iPhone Pro model series that will come this year would have an LTPO screen and a 120Hz refresh rate. While the news regarding the implementation of Always On-Display on the 2021 iPhone series continues, Mark Gurman also reports that the company will soon announce the latest generation of MacBook Pro between September and November at the latest. Then, he also added that the new laptop would begin mass production in the third quarter of this year.
