Spotify brings the latest miniplayer feature, allowing users to enjoy songs and podcasts directly on Facebook.
With Spotify continuously improving the user experience for sharing and interacting with songs and podcasts, the company is now bringing in a miniplayer feature driven by content discovery on social media. This new feature allows users to enjoy audio content from Spotify directly on Facebook without switching applications.
This miniplayer feature is available in certain countries, including Indonesia. Thanks to this feature, Spotify Premium users can find and listen to songs and podcasts with full playback functionality directly from Spotify, on the Facebook application on iOS and Android. Meanwhile, Spotify free users can enjoy a similar experience with shuffle mode with advertisements from Spotify.
Apart from sharing Spotify content on the Facebook News Feed page, Spotify users can now play songs via the miniplayer on verified artist posts or videos uploaded by Facebook users that contain licensed music. This way, artists and creators can now connect with more of their fans.
To play the miniplayer, users only need to click the “Play” button on the song shared by you, your friends, family, or favorite creators from Spotify to the Facebook News Feed. The first time you use the miniplayer, your screen will display an approval dialog. Then select Connect to continue.
If you have logged in to your Spotify account, your screen will automatically return to the Facebook application, and the song will start playing from the Spotify application. Spotify will then continue playing the music, even if you continue to explore the News Feed screen. It is known that you will also still be able to control the songs you play, including to pause or pause songs in the miniplayer.
