Patch 3.05 Varolant Episode 3 Act II: new map, battle pass, and skill updates

Patch 3.05 Varolant Episode 3 Act II: new map, battle pass, and skill updates

The update patch 3.05 for the game Varolant Episode 3 Act II is finally officially released on September 9, 2021. In this update, Riot Games brings many new things that players can enjoy. One of them is a new map called Fracture.

As previously reported, the Fracture map has a unique design, namely an H-shaped layout that divides straight into the middle. This map shows two different conditions separated by cracks caused by time shifts. On the one hand, the map displays buildings with an arid desert climate, but on the other hand, it looks more fertile with green forests.

While playing on this map, Attackers will appear on both sides of the map while Defenders will appear in the middle. This is a new mechanism that Riot offers on the Fracture map.

Not only new maps, but patch 3.05 also brings several updates such as skill changes to Agents, Competitive mode, and bug fixes. Check out the explanation below!

Update on Agent

Breach

Aftershock (C), now dealing damage to:

  • Killjoy Alarm Bot
  • Killjoy Nanoswarm
  • Killjoy Lockdown
  • Cypher Tripwire
  • Reyna Leer
  • Sage Barrier Orb
  • Sova Recon Bolt
  • KAY/O Zero/Point

Brimstone

Orbital Strike (X) now deals damage to:

  • Killjoy Nanoswarm
  • Cypher Trapwire
  • Sage Barrier Orb
  • Sova Recon Bolt
  • KAY/O Zero/Point

Sova

Hunter’s Fury (X) now deals damage to:

  • Killjoy Nanoswarm
  • Cypher Trapwire
  • Sage Barrier Orb
  • Sova Recon Bolt
  • KAY/O Zero/Point

Killjoy

Turret

The Turret is a versatile skill that can provide information, deal damage, and slow down opponents when hit by a shot. So far, at the beginning of the match, where the agent only has a gun, the Turret can be a mainstay with its damage, firing speed, and slow effect. This makes it difficult for the opponent to immobilize him. This change aims to slightly reduce the Turret’s ability to block attacks and give opponents more options.

  • The slow effect, when hit by bullets, reduced from 72.5% to 29.5%

Raze

Boom Boot (C)

The ability of Boom Bots to find, and track opponents, is the best choice for attacking, especially early in the match. Riot reduces boom bot damage but also reduces its price. Gamers who play Raze as a mainstay agent must adapt to this change

  • Maximum damage reduced from 125 to 80
  • Minimum damage reduced from 50 to 30
  • Cost reduced from 400 to 300

Update on Competitive Mode

  • Immortal Rank 1/2/3 is back, and Leaderboard will be updated to differentiate players in each Immortal level
  • Ranked group restriction update to support the return of Immortal 1/2/3 rank
  • Diamonds 1 –> Immortal 1
  • Diamonds 2 –> Immortal 2
  • Diamonds 3 –> Immortal 3
  • Distribution adjustment on Competitive rank
  • Fracture special queue
  • The queue is a standard Unrated mode that gives players the opportunity to practice in Fractures before playing them in Competitive mode
  • The Queue Fracture will be present for two weeks, after which Fracture will be present in other modes, including Competitive

Update on Progression

  • Bonus XP Premium Battlepass
  • Upgrading to Premium Battlepass can increase XP by 3% on the Battlepass tier for all modes until the end of Act II
  • This is not retroactive so that an early upgrade will give players access to a large amount of XP
  • Increased XP does not apply to Daily and Weekly Missions

Social Update

  • Update to ‘AFK detection logic’ to prevent players from farming Battlepass or Account Levels the AFK way in modes like Deathmatch and Snowball Fight
  • Performance Update
  • Updates the ping count to maintain server time frames
  • Update of markers used by NVIDIA Reflexx
  • NVIDIA Reflex functions to reduce and calculate rendering latency. This update allows Reflex to increase the frame rate

Bugs

Agent

  • Fixed a bug where Viper smokestacks used by friendly and enemy teams could reduce visibility and damage could not regenerate
  • Fixed a bug where Omen could get stuck on another object if it blocked the return location from From of Shadows
  • Omen will no longer mount his weapon slowly after wearing Dark Cover
  • Astra will no longer slow down after exiting Astral Form.
  • Fixed KAY/O’s NULL’/cmd wave from shattering glass in Ascent

Competitive

  • Fixed a bug where the Leaderboard would load forever when searching for a specific player
  • Esports Features
  • For Coach, the loading screen should display all the information of Agent selection correctly (Agent composition of two teams, etc.)
  • Fixed an issue where observer moderators couldn’t see the pause match timer option when a player disconnects from connection then reconnects while in a match
