Panasonic – The Lumix BS1H is capable of recording 6K video at 24p, 5.4K at 30p (in 3:2 aspect ratio), or 5.9K at 30p (in 16:9 aspect ratio).

Panasonic has announced the camera mirrorless Lumix DC-BS1H with a box design. Similar to the form factor of the Micro Four Thirds BGH1 format, the BS1H packs sensor a much larger 24 MP full-frame.

Its boxy design prioritizes connectivity and mobility to use the camera in a variety of filming situations. It includes USB 3.1 Type-C, 3G-SDI (BNC), and HDMI Type-A ports. In addition, Genlock IN (BNC) and Timecode IN/OUT (BNC) functions enable multi-angle sync video recording.

Power over Ethernet+ (PoE+) makes it easy to install both physically and electrically when connected to a LAN. Control over a maximum of 12 Lumix BS1H cameras is available using the Panasonic Lumix Tether PC software for Multicam. The Lumix BS1H is also equipped with dual SD card slots for backup recording or relay recording.

Reporting from PetaPixel (October 8), the BS1H uses a 24.2 MP full-frame CMOS sensor capable of recording up to 6K resolution. This camera uses OLPF (optical low pass filter) to suppress moire interference and color shift. Panasonic claims the BS1H has excellent low-light performance.

The Lumix BS1H is capable of recording 6K video at 24p, 5.4K at 30p (in a 3:2 aspect ratio), or 5.9K at 30p (in a 16:9 aspect ratio). It also provides 4K 60p 10 bit and C4K HEVC video recording using the Super 35mm equivalent image area.

Panasonic also says the Lumix BS1H provides real-time subject detection with advanced deep learning technology to focus precisely on subjects such as people and animals, even those moving at high speed.

The BS1H offers variable frame rates of up to 60 fps in 4K recording and 180 fps in Full HD recording. This camera provides an IP streaming function that enables high-quality remote image transmission to online social streaming platforms with a PC connected via LAN. The price for the Panasonic Lumix DC- BS1H is USD 3,500.
