OPPO SMART TAG LEAKED BEFORE RELEASE

OPPO SMART TAG LEAKED BEFORE RELEASE

Oppo Smart Tag – This further strengthens OPPO report that it is preparing object trackers to respond to competition from Apple and Samsung. Recently, Apple launched its object tracker via AirTag, which offers UWB (Ultra Wide Band) features to rival Samsung. Now, it looks like the Chinese giant OPPO will enter the scene after their Smart Tag was leaked on the internet.

The source of the leak, Digital Chat Station, has posted an image of what it claims to be the Technical Test version of the upcoming OPPO Smart Tag. The device appears in white, and another image shows the device has “Ultra Wide Band” and “OPPO” written on it.

Reporting from Gizmochina (23/4) further strengthens OPPO report that prepares object trackers to respond to competition from Apple and Samsung. What is even more surprising is that OPPO’s solution appears to be more environmentally friendly than its competitors. This is because the battery can be recharged.

This feature is not available on the Apple AirTag or Samsung Galaxy SmartTag and SmartTag +. The devices from these two companies are not equipped with rechargeable batteries. While Apple has provided an option to replace the CR2032 battery in AirTags, a rechargeable battery may be a better and more practical option.

In terms of features, the UWB written on the image indicates that Smart Tag will help the user to track the tag location accurately and assist him with better directions than the Bluetooth version alone. There is no further information that the OPPO Smart Tag will have IP certification protected from water and dust.
