Finally, Mercedes-Benz confirmed the presence of an electric version of their legendary SUV, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. This is based on Mercedes-Benz’s efforts to register the name Mercedes-Benz EQG with the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
The number 580 is currently being used by Mercedes-Benz for their most luxurious and strongest electric sedan, the Mercedes-Benz EQS 580. The sedan is claimed to have a maximum power of 516 horsepower and a maximum torque of 828 Nm.
Although no form of camouflage has yet been shown to show the electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Daimler CEO Olla Kallenius said the electric G-Class could be presented to the public soon. “Yes, the G-Class will soon become electric. We have already started the concept. So soon, you will see the electric G-Class,” said Olla Kallenius.
The absence of a concept car and camouflage car appearance has generated a lot of speculation. Many people doubt that Mercedes-Benz will maintain the ladder frame platform in the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. It is believed that the car will use a monocoque platform like the one in other electric SUV.
However, if you really want to have a little picture, at least the electric concept car Ener-G Force that Mercedes-Benz showed at the 2012 Los Angeles Motor Show can give a short answer to what the electric SUV looks like.
