INTEL PREPARES A NEW FACTORY FOR 7NM PROCESSOR

With a total of IDR 287.5 trillion in funds, Intel wants to build 2 factories to manufacture their own 7nm processors. The new CEO of Intel, Pat Gelsinger, does not seem to want to waste time bringing the latest technology for technology enthusiasts. They are rumored to be producing their own 7nm chipset.

He also announced the “IDM 2.0” strategy, whereby they will start with an investment of USD 20 billion. They use these funds to make two new factories in America, more precisely in Arizona. Interestingly, this factory will not only be used by Intel products. They will also use the factory to make some chipsets that have worked together before.

Engadget (24/3) reported that this new factory is also rumored to be focused on producing chipsets with 7nm fabrication technology. As is known, Intel continues to accelerate the manufacture of processors with this technology.

Intel is the only company with the depth and breadth of software, silicon and platforms, packaging, and manufacturing processes at the scale that customers can count on for next-generation innovation,” Gelsinger said in a blog post.

IDM 2.0 is an elegant strategy only Intel can deliver, and it’s a winning formula

However, it is assumed that the construction of the factory will only be completed by the end of 2021. Also, Intel’s 7nm fabrication technology will only be completed in 2023.
