Intel has just released the latest NUC 11 Extreme ‘Beast Canyon’. This is the largest NUC Intel has ever made but offers a very high upgrade.
Intel NUC Beast Canyon is equipped with the latest 11th generation tiger lake series processors and now supports full-length graphics cards. This gives users the flexibility to choose a GPU.
The NUC 11 Extreme ‘Beast Canyon’ kit is equipped with an 8-liter case with chassis dimensions of 357 x 189 x 120mm. Interestingly, there is a single PCIe 4.0 x16 expansion slot inside.
To support the GPU with a large wattage, Intel provides a 650W PSU that is certified 80 Plus Gold ITX. When compared to its predecessor, the size of this PSU is 150W higher.
Users will get a processor from the Tiger Lake-H series. User options include desktop processors that have 8 cores and 16 threads. Some of the processors that users can choose from are Intel Core i9-11900KB and Core i7-11700B.
However, users will also get the option of a Core i5-11400H. The Intel Core i9-11900KB and Core i7-11700B will have a TDP of 65W, and the Core i5-11400H will have a TDP of 45W.
The only processor that can be overclocked is the Core i9-11900KB and has a boost clock of up to 4.9 GHz. Unfortunately, it is still unknown how Intel can anticipate the heat generated by the processor when overclocked.
Beast Canyon utilizes the WM590 chipset designed explicitly for Tiger Lake processors and supports up to 64GB of DDR4-3200 1.2V SO-DIMM memory. This compact computer comes with four M.2 slots and two SATA 6Gbp slots.
