Geely electric car is predicted to use HarmonyOS

Geely electric car – Apart from the partnership with BAIC, Huawei is developing HarmonyOS as a cross-platform operating system.

The operating system HarmonyOS of Huawei’s is already getting a new home again. According to sources familiar with the matter, automaker Geely’s Geometry plans to use HarmonyOS for the next five years.

Geometry is a sub-brand electric car Geely’s independent focus on manufacturing sedans, SUVs, and more. The plan is that the vehicle will be powered by HarmonyOS, such as the Arcfox Alpha S, which was developed with BAIC and Huawei. This HarmonyOS-based electric car is expected to start shipping in Q4 2021.

Gizmochina (November 2) reported that there is no official statement from Huawei and Geely regarding this rumor, but it is not surprising if it finally happened. Apart from the partnership with BAIC, Huawei is developing HarmonyOS as a cross-platform operating system that will integrate seamlessly across multiple platforms.

Since the US ban crippled its smartphone business, the Chinese tech giant has been looking for ways to expand its business. One of them is the increased focus on the automotive industry.

Earlier this year, Huawei announced a partnership with BYD to integrate BYD Han with Huawei Mobile Service (HMS) for cars. The HMS is also fitted to the 2021 Mercedes Benz S-Class in the Chinese market.

Several Huawei insiders hinted that they had not heard of such a plan, as reports from ITHome. It also revealed that Huawei officials did not respond to requests for comment regarding the circulating rumors.
