Garmin launches the Venu 2 Plus & Vivomove Sport smartwatch at CES 2022

Garmin has just announced its newest wearables during the ongoing CES 2022 event. The company has launched new smartwatches, including the Venu 2 Plus and Vivomove Sport.

Venu 2 Plus

The American brand unveiled the latest addition to the Venu 2 series during the event, which finally received two important features. This includes taking phone calls and support for voice assistant control. The Venu 2 Plus features a 1.3-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 416 x 416 pixels, Always On mode, and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. It is available in a single case size of 43mm and comes with an interchangeable 20mm silicone strap.

The new smartwatch also comes with the usual fitness-related features, allowing it to track physical activity both indoors and outdoors. It even comes with an automatic incident detection feature that alerts emergency contacts with the user’s location. Garmin states that the Venu 2 Plus can last up to 9 days on a single full charge and up to 8 days with GPS and music mode enabled. This smartwatch supports fast charging, which adds a day’s use to just 10 minutes of charging.

Vivomove Sport

The Vivomove Sport from the company is a hybrid watch, which joins the existing Vivomove series. It adopts a small analog design with a hidden touch screen at the bottom of the case. When the user interacts with the screen, the physical hand moves away to offer a clear view. Furthermore, this screen displays important information such as incoming calls, text messages, along with important health-related trackers such as heart rate, blood oxygen, sleep tracking, and step mapping.

The new smartwatch also comes with exercise tracking and can be paired with a smartphone to allow its GPS to track the distance traveled. This hybrid watch can last up to 5 days in its smartwatch mode and up to 6 days in its Watch mode.

Pricing and Availability

Garmin Venu 2 Plus is available for USD 450 and is currently on sale in three color variants, including Stainless Steel Silver Bezel with Powder Gray Case, Stainless Steel Slate Bezel with Black Case, and Cream Gold Stainless Steel Bezel with Ivory Case. On the other hand, Vivomove Sport is priced at USD 180. It is also sold in several color options: Cool Mint casing with Silver accents, Black casing with Slate accents, Ivory casing with Peach Gold accents, and Cocoa casing with Slate accents.
