The differences between iPhone13 Pro and iPhone13 Pro Max have fairly identical specifications, apart from the screen size and body.
Apple announced its newest line of iPhones, the iPhone 13 series. This announcement coincides with the launch of the Apple Watch 7 and iPad Mini, and iPad Gen 9. The iPhone 13 comes in four variants, namely the standard version of the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max. Here are the differences below:
1. Specifications and Storage Media
Technically, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max are also powered by Apple’s latest chip, the A15 Bionic. The SoC is designed with 5nm fabrication technology and is claimed to be more powerful than competitors. Regarding storage, iPhone 13, Mini, Pro, and Pro Max are equipped with internal memory with capacities starting at 128 GB. There are also 256GB and 512GB storage options. For the first time, the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max even have an option of up to 1 TB.
The iPhone 13 Pro Duo is also equipped with more advanced features than the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini. One of them is the ProMotion Display feature which allows the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max to dynamically adjust the refresh rate from 10 Hz to 120 Hz, according to the content displayed on the screen. When playing games and tuning videos, the refresh rate can increase to as high as 120 Hz. Meanwhile, when reading and displaying a static screen, the iPhone 13 Pro refresh rate can be lowered to 10 Hz.
2. Thicker Body
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are the latest series that are more sophisticated than the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini. Like the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini, the specifications for the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are identical, apart from the screen size and body. The iPhone 13 Pro has a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR Display panel, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch.
Just like the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini, the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are also equipped with bangs that are claimed to be 20% smaller than the previous generation. Inside the iPhone 13 bangs, a 12 MP selfie camera and an infrared camera for scanning faces (Face ID).
iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max are equipped with three rear cameras, consisting of a 12 MP main camera (f/1.5), a 12 MP ultra-wide camera (f/1.8, now with Autofocus), and a 12 MP telephoto camera (focal). Apple claims users can shoot objects from as close as 2 cm using the camera with a 120-degree field of view on the iPhone 13 Pro. The main camera is also claimed to create images 2.2 times brighter than the previous generation.
In addition, the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max also have the photography features found on the iPhone 13 and 13 Mini, such as sensor-shift OIS, Night Mode on all cameras, and Cinematic Video which can apply a bokeh effect to video recording. There is also a ProRes 4K 30 FPS feature for capable video recording for videographers and Photographic Styles that can be used to choose photo filters that match shooting conditions.
4. Battery Capacity
Apple doesn’t reveal the battery capacity of the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max. However, the iPhone 13 Pro is claimed to be strong enough to accompany users for 1.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12 Pro, while the power of the iPhone 13 Pro Max is said to be 2.5 hours longer than the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
In addition to supporting charging via cable, the two latest Apple phones also support charging using the MagSafe system and its various supporting ecosystems. Both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have a water and dust resistance rating of IP68.
