AMD confirms that it seems to have confirmed the presence of the next generation of CPU and GPU. They say the development and production of both devices have been following the schedule very well.
In a second-quarter 2021 investor call, AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su said they are ready to launch Zen 4CPU Ryzen in the next generation and Radeon RX RDNA 3 GPU in 2022.
As is known, the core architecture of AMD Zen 4 and RDNA 3 will use the next generation of fabrication technology. They will also use a variety of new technologies for both products.
AMD has also confirmed that they will have one SKU for the next generation AMD Ryzen desktop CPU and two different SKUs. One will be based on Zen 3 with 3D V-Cache and one based on Zen 4 known as Raphael.
“We remain on track to launch next-generation products in 2022, including our Zen 4 processor built with industry-leading 5nm process technology and our RDNA 3 GPU,” said AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su as quoted from the Wccftech page (July 28).
As for the AMD GPU family, the series is Radeon. The next-generation RX (7000) is said to use new manufacturing technology and will have high performance. Not to forget, this GPU is also rumored to be the first gaming GPU to use the MCM (Multi-Chip Module) design.
Unfortunately, it’s still not known exactly when AMD is ready to introduce and launch both their new CPU and GPU.
